Frequently Asked Questions
Cooling / Heating
How is my accommodation cooled?
-
Monte Casone has been renovated recently with green technologies which have brought the buildings to the highest level of energy performance. Its geothermal system uses the under-floor piping equipment for cooling purposes. This technology is healthier and more comfortable than flowing cold air. The temperature inside the accommodation is typically kept around 8°C cooler than peak outside temperature. During summer, the temperature will be maintained at approximately 24°C. Also, all bedrooms windows are equipped with mosquito nets, so as to take maximum advantage of night coolness. It is however recommended to keep all windows and doors shut during hot days, as the geothermal system works best with sealed buildings
How is my accommodation heated?
-
Monte Casone can welcome you all year-round with the highest level of comfort and respect for the environment, even in winter. The buildings have been recently restored and have been awarded the much sought after energy performance certificate A+. In order to achieve this, a number of green technologies were used during the renovation, such as a closed loop geothermal well system, pyramid shaped under-floor heating and cooling, polarized low emissivity windows, wood fibreboard insulation and dual-flow ventilation. The use of these technologies, which is extremely rare in this region of Italy, delivers an unrivalled level of comfort. Constant temperature up to 24°C can be easily maintained in all rooms

Driving directions
!!! Do not drive trough the small fragment of the road "Via Poggetta" leading to Monte Casone, as asphalt ends 50m down the track and heavy mud is likely to be encountered !!!
Also, please be advised that the local portion of the road “Via di Monti” leading to Monte Casone is partly asphalted and partly in gravel. Although this is very common in Italy - and although the road is in excellent condition - it may surprise citizens of countries that have a fully asphalted road network.
